Students Of The Month: March, 2025

The Washington County Career Center honors its March Students of the Month, Hanna and Wade.

Hanna is a Belpre senior enrolled in the Graphic Design & Video Production program. She is the daughter of Gabriel and Carrie of Belpre.

At the Career Center, Hanna is a member and the secretary for the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization, president and an intern for Students Solving Problems, and treasurer for the National Technical Honor Society. She is also the class parliamentarian of her technical program.

For BPA, she competed and placed third at the regional level last school year in the category of extemporaneous speech. This year’s regionals, she competed and placed second for broadcast production team and third for prepared speech. Through her technical program, Hanna has or will earn college credit or industrial certifications for the Adobe Creative Cloud software in 2D animation, after effects, illustrator, indesign, photoshop, digital photography, digital storytelling, digital video effects, graphic design, live streaming and production, premier pro, and video production. She is receiving a technical focus and learning skills for creating & editing digital graphics, design techniques, information technology, multimedia & image management techniques, and video & sound. At Belpre High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Upward Bound, Academic Excellent Recognition Organization, and the concert and marching bands. Hanna is labeled as gifted in both academics and music.


Hanna has been on the Career Center’s principal list or honor roll every grading period. She has or will earn college credit for the following academics: American national government, American history, English composition I & II, general psychology, music appreciation, speech, and technical writing. Hanna is on track to earn her associate’s degree through Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) for individualized study upon graduation from high school. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa through WSCO. Graduation Pathway Specialist, Shari, commented, “Hanna is fairly quiet, but a leader in her own way. I can always count on her to help with various events. She is a role model for students at the Career Center.” Graphic Design & Video Production instructor, Chris, commented, “Hanna is an intelligent and dedicated student who always does her best at anything she sets her mind to.”

Upon graduation, she plans to attend Ohio University to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She aspires to obtain a position with Disney or in the film industry.

Wade is a Waterford senior enrolled in the Electricity program, and he is the son of Kevin and Stephanie of Waterford.


At the Career Center, Wade is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization, National Technical Honor Society, and is class president of his technical program. As a student ambassador, Wade is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Waterford High School. In addition, he is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. He has been on the Career Center’s principal list or honor roll every grading period.

At Waterford High School, he is active in baseball.

Through his technical program, Wade has earned industrial certifications for construction education and research (NCCER): core & level 1 as well as occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) – 10-hour training for construction. In addition, he has earned a certification for the environmental protection agency (EPA 608). He is taking course offerings and learning skills for commercial & industrial construction electrical systems, construction electrical systems, construction safety & crew leadership, and residential electrical systems.


He has or will earn college credit for the following academics: American national government, applied physics, college algebra, English composition, introduction to ethics, principles of accounting, principles of microeconomics, speech, and statistics. Electricity instructor, Jeff, commented, “Wade entered the Electricity program with goals for his future career and his priorities in order. He has always strived to learn as much as he can and be productive in and out of the classroom. He is a person of integrity and a leader among his peers. He has been an asset to the Career Center and an ambassador for the electrical trades program.”

Wade is currently working at Brooker General Contracting through the Career Center’s early placement program. His goal is to become a lineman and an apprentice for the IBEW Local 71 out of Columbus.
