Students Of the Month: February, 2025

The Washington County Career Center honors its February students of the month, Audrelle and Carson.

 

Audrelle is a Marietta senior enrolled in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Janelle of Marietta.

 

At the Career Center, Audrelle is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization and the national technical honor society. She has been on both the principal list and honor roll. As a student ambassador, Audrelle is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Marietta High School. In addition, she is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. Academically, she has or will take college credit courses for introduction to nutrition, medical terminology, and statistics. In the patient health care program, she is receiving a technical focus and learning skills for health science & technology, medical terminology, patient centered care, patient centered care & diagnostics, and principles of allied health medicine.

 

Audrelle has earned industry-recognized credentials and/or certifications for automated external defibrillator (AED), cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, stop the bleed, and the Ohio department of health – state tested nurse assistant (STNA). She is currently working on a phlebotomy certification. Patient Health Care instructor, Heather, nominated Audrelle for this honor and commented, “Audrelle demonstrates strong leadership skills. She is very dependable, trustworthy, responsible, and honest. She always takes pride in her work and exhibits a great attitude as well as teamwork amongst her teachers and peers.”

 

Audrelle is a member of Evergreen Bible Church, in Williamstown, where she volunteers to raise money for the animal shelters as well as Operation Christmas Child. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Washington State College of Ohio to become a registered nurse.



 

Carson is a Belpre senior enrolled in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Eric of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Danielle of Belpre.

 

At the Career Center, Carson is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization and national technical honor society. He has been on the Career Center’s principal list and honor roll. In addition, he is a student ambassador, acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Belpre High School. At Belpre High School, he is a member of the academic excellence recognition organization, active in basketball, baseball, and golf, and serves as captain for the golf team. He received awards for 1st team all-district golf, TVC player of the year, and all TVC academic. He volunteers for youth baseball and assists the coaches.

 

He earned industry-recognized credentials or certifications for automated external defibrillator (AED), cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, stop the bleed, and physical therapy technician certification (PTTC). Through College Credit Plus, he has or will earn both high school and college credit for American national government, college algebra, English composition, exercise science, first aid-personal safety, health & fitness foundations, introduction to nutrition, medical terminology, resistance training, statistics, and technical writing. Carson is taking course offerings and learning skills for athletic injuries & prevention, exercise & athletic training, nutrition & wellness, and sports exercise psychology. Mathematics instructor, Betsy, and Sports Medicine & Exercise Science instructor, Lauren, nominated Carson for this honor. They commented, “Carson was a great statistics student. He was always prepared, participated, and had a great attitude daily. Carson is extremely helpful in lab and class.”

 

Carson aspires to attend the University of North Greenville to play golf and obtain a degree in exercise science.
