HIRING CDL INSTRUCTOR


POSITION NOTICE: CDL Truck Driver Instructor


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to routinely pass DOT drug screen and physical.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. CDL license required.

  • At least three years CDL driving experience required.

  • Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) CDL Instructor Credential preferred; willingness to obtain ODPS Instructor Credential and ODHE teaching permit if necessary.

  • Proficient computer skills preferred.

  • Effective communication and human relations skills.

  • Ability to manage confidential issues.

  • Must have strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and organization.

  • Capacity to comprehend abstract information and make applied connections.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for creating a positive instructional and learning environment.

  • Must be able to meet the needs of adult learners while maintaining high importance on safety.

  • Instruction includes theory/classroom, range/maneuverability, pre-trip inspection, and over-the-road driving.

  • Utilize and maintain data in the student information system.

  • Collaborate effectively with office staff and administration.


COMPENSATION:

Hourly range $27 to $30 per hour, with ODPS Instructor Credential


Part-time: 8 to 10 hour workdays – weekday and/or weekend hours.
