The Washington County Career Center honors its September Students of the Month, Casondra and Cameron.
Casondra is a Fort Frye senior enrolled in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Eddie and Julie of Lowell.
At the Career Center, Cassie is a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization, Interact Club, Student Council, and the National Technical Honor Society. Last school year, she held the offices of BPA Chapter Co-President and Historian for her technical program. As a Student Ambassador, she is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Fort Frye High School. In addition, she is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. Cassie has received awards for the Career Center’s Principal List and Energy Bus Driver program for meeting all three criteria of 3.0 GPA or higher, 95% attendance or higher, and no office referrals. At Fort Frye, she is a member of the National Honor Society and is the Vice President for her class. In her technical program, Cassie has earned industry-recognized credentials and college credit for the software Adobe Certified Associate: Digital Photography, Digital Video Production and Photoshop. She is currently working on Illustrator, InDesign and Digital Video Effects. Through College Credit Plus (CCP), she earned both high school and college credit for American National Government, College Algebra and English Composition, and will be taking Statistics this school year. In the Graphic Design & Video Production program, Cassie is receiving a technical focus and learning skills for 21st-century career exploration; creating/manipulating vector and raster graphics; digital illustration and publishing; digital photography; multimedia production and presentation; typography and animation; and video production and special effects.
Math instructor, Evan Schaad, commented on special traits and roles Cassie carries such as dedicated, thorough in tasks given and an excellent work ethic. She is employed at Dough Boys in Beverly. Upon graduation, Cassie plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. While enlisted, she plans to attend the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) to obtain a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and earn the rank of Second Lieutenant.
Cameron is a Warren senior enrolled in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Mitchell and Tracy of Marietta.
At the Career Center, Cameron is a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization and the National Technical Honor Society. At Warren, he plays the snare drum and is a member of the Warren Local Marching Warriors. In his technical program, Cameron has earned industry-recognized credentials and college credit for the software Adobe Certified Associate: Photoshop. He is currently working on Illustrator, InDesign, Digital Photography, Digital Video Effects, and Digital Video Production. Through College Credit Plus (CCP), he earned both high school and college credit for American National Government and English Composition and will be taking College Algebra this school year. Upon graduation, Cameron aspires to attend either Bowling Green University or Ohio University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT.
