The Washington County Career Center honors its November Students of the Month, Ashley and Levi
Ashley is a Warren senior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program. She is the daughter of Francis, III and Monica of Marietta.
At the Career Center, Ashley is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization and holds the office of President for National Technical Honor Society. She is also the class President for Medical College Prep. As a Student Ambassador, she is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Warren High School. In addition, she is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. Ashley has received awards for the Principal’s List, Honor Roll, and the Career Center’s Energy Bus “Drivers” Program (formerly W.I.S.H. List) in meeting all three criteria for 3.0 GPA or higher, 95% attendance or higher, and no office referrals. Through her technical program, she earned the certification for Stop the Bleed and will be earning certifications for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator. She will sit for the State-Tested Nursing Assistant industrial credential in December. At Warren High School, she was a member of the marching band and lettered her sophomore year. Ashley has received college credit or is currently taking dual-enrollment classes for: College Algebra, English Composition, Introduction to Nutrition, Medical Terminology I & II, and Statistics. In addition, she is taking a college evening course at Washington State Community College (WSCC) for Psychology and will be taking Anatomy & Physiology. Marketing & Events Coordinator, Penny Jenkins, nominated Ashley for this honor and commented on special traits and roles she carries such as dependable, helpful, bright, caring, polite, hardworking, honest, excellent work ethic, and a positive role model.
Ashley is currently employed at the Pike Street McDonald’s, in Marietta, as a manager. Upon graduation, she plans to
attend Hocking Technical College to obtain an associate degree to become a registered nurse and then take online courses through WSCC to earn a BSN.
Levi is a Belpre senior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program. He is the son of Kevin of Belpre.
At the Career Center, Levi is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization and participated at the State level in the Health Knowledge Bowl. He has received awards for the Principal’s List, Honor Roll, Merit Roll, and the Career Center’s Energy Bus “Drivers” Program (formerly W.I.S.H. List) in meeting all three criteria for 3.0 GPA or higher, 95% attendance or higher, and no office referrals. Through his technical program, he earned the certification for Stop the Bleed and will be earning certifications for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator. Levi has received college credit or is currently taking dual-enrollment classes for: American National Government, College Algebra, English Composition, Introduction to Nutrition, Medical Terminology I & II, and Statistics. Both Science Instructor, Kristin Sigman, and Graduation Pathway Specialist, Shari Elfline, nominated Levi for this honor and commented on special traits and roles he carries such as positive, supportive, friendly, helpful, and proactive.
Levi is currently employed at Sponey’s IGA, in Beverly, for carryout. Upon graduation, he plans to attend the University of Rio Grande to obtain a bachelor’s degree in biology and then attend medical school to become a surgeon.
