Career Center Hires New and Transitions Within

With the retirement of six employees and filling two vacated positions, the Washington County Career Center administration was busy this past summer transitioning within and hiring employees before the new school year. Amy Pinkerton moved from being an instructor for the high school’s Patient Health Care program to instructing the new Pre-Nursing program. Evan Schaad transitioned from the high school as a math instructor to Director for the Career Center’s Adult Technical Training.

The Career Center welcomes seven new high school employees: Tim Kilpatrick, Assistant Director; Heather Klintworth, Patient Health Care Instructor; Donna Matheny, Cosmetology Instructor; Christopher Porter, Alternative to Graduation Pathways Instructor/Coordinator; Darcie Porter, English Instructor; Mandy Scharff, Assistant to the Assistant Director/Attendance/Fees; and Betsy Schramm, Mathematics Instructor.

In addition, the Career Center is excited to be partnering with the Education Service Center (ESC) and Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C) to bring on board two talented individuals. From the ESC, Elizabeth Reynolds, LPCC, will be filling the position of a school-based therapist. Through BB2C, Kristi Leonard-Webber will be collaborating closely with our staff and students, as well as the six county-wide home schools, as the community & career center connected learning coordinator.
