Career Center Inducts Honor Society


The National Technical Honor Society of the Career Center recently held induction of new members and reception for students selected for membership. Forty-three young men and women and their guests were invited to the reception.

The National Technical Honor Society, formed in 1984, recognizes outstanding career and technical students for achievement in seven competency areas, including skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. Locally, the Washington County Career Center has honored students for 24 years. This year, 24 new initiates were inducted at a ceremony on April 24 at the Career Center.

The new initiates are:

  • Sydney Benson is a Warren junior in the Health Information Technology program, and she is the daughter of Brian Benson of Vincent.

  • Hannah Blevins is a Warren senior in the Cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Matthew and Debra Proctor of Fleming;

  • Mariah Brown is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Harold and Pamela Brown of Vincent;

  • Malika Campbell is a Belpre junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Joshua and Lisa Campbell of Belpre;

  • Katelyn Chesser is a Warren junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Justin and Bonnie Chesser of Bartlett;

  • Scott Cunningham is a Warren junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Kelly and Julie Cunningham of Marietta;

  • Chiana Eddy is a Fort Frye junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Bruce and Renay Eddy of Lower Salem;

  • Benjamin Erb is a Frontier junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and he is the son of William and Cynthia Erb of Stanleyville;

  • DeLaney Harper is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Greg and Chris Harper of Cutler;

  • Abigail Hiener is a Marietta senior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and she is the daughter of Mark and Brandy Hiener of Marietta;

  • Ashley Jones is a Warren senior in the Cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Chris Jaeger of Little Hocking;

  • Megan Kelley is a Marietta senior in the Health Information Technology program, and she is the daughter of Mancil and Missy Kelley of Marietta;

  • Margaret Kemp is a Warren junior in the Cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Philip and Karen Kemp of Vincent;

  • Brodey Lehman is a Warren senior in the Diesel Truck Mechanics program, and he is the son of Coy and Andrea Lehman of Little Hocking;

  • Hannah R. Moore is a Frontier junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Mindy Moore of Dart and the late Roger Moore;

  • Maddison Poole is a Fort Frye senior in the Masonry program, and she is the daughter of David and Kim Poole of Lowell;

  • Michaela Shuman is a Marietta junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and she is the daughter of Mechelle Shuman of Marietta;

  • Austin Siders is a Marietta junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Emily Siders of Marietta;

  • Sarah Slater is a Belpre junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Slater of Belpre;

  • Kendell Ullman is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Teresa Ullmann of Vincent;

  • Allison Welch is a Warren junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Ronnie Welch of Marietta and Sandy Rumbold of Marietta;

  • Aubriona Wittekind is a Warren junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Wesley and Angela Wittekind of Vincent;

  • Kaylie Wittekind is a Belpre junior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and she is the daughter of Jason Wittekind of Marietta and Julie Fought of Belpre; and

  • Tanner Wriston is a Warren junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and he is the son of Crystal Martin of Belpre.

  • Trinity Abicht is a Marietta senior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the granddaughter of Denver and Holly Abicht of Marietta;

  • Quinton Anderson (Vice President) is a Warren senior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Duane Anderson of Indiana and Michelle West of Little Hocking;

  • Brandi Bauerbach is a Marietta senior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Kenny Bauerbach of Marietta;

  • Alexis Burks (Secretary) is a Warren senior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Jason and Tiffany Barnum of Belpre;

  • Michael Crawford is a Marietta senior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Michael Crawford of Marietta and Dawn Crawford of Marietta;

  • McKenzie Davis is a Belpre senior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Gary and Angie Davis of Belpre;

  • Brianna Elkins (President) is a Belpre senior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Timothy Elkins of Ravenswood and Jennifer Elkins of Belpre;

  • Renee Ford is a Warren senior in the Cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Gary and Tracie Ford of Marietta;

  • Bailey Graham is a Marietta senior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and she is the daughter of Robert and Jolene Graham of Reno;

  • Andrew Klintworth is a Waterford senior in the Heavy Equipment program, and he is the son of Roy and Lucy Klintworth of Waterford;

  • Elena Lawson is a Marietta senior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of James and Mary Lawson of Marietta;

  • Nathan Lewis (Treasurer) is a Warren senior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Betsy Boone of Fleming and the grandson of Joan Beardmore of Fleming;

  • Jane Mahan (Historian) is a Warren senior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Webster Mahan of Cutler and Tonja Mahan of Little Hocking;

  • Shawna Mahoney is a Belpre senior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Michael Mahoney of Belpre and Helen Mahoney of Abbeville, Louisiana;

  • Christopher Myers is a Belpre senior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and he is the son of Donny and Juli Myers of Belpre;

  • Evan Scott is a Marietta senior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Rodney and Angela Scott of Marietta;

  • Chyla Sephfus is a Belpre senior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Terry and Carla Sephfus of Vincent;

  • Ciara Sims is a Marietta senior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Chris and Cindi Sims of Marietta; and

  • Carly Strickler is a Frontier senior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Shawn Strickler of Marietta and Gale and Rachel DePuy of Marietta.

Career Center students are selected for membership based upon scholarship (3.8 Career Center GPA), teacher recommendations, and exemplifying the seven ideals of Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership. Many Washington County Career Center students over the years have been members of both the Career Center Honor Society and their respective partner school honor society.
