NTHS Food Drive Nov. 16-20th

The Career Center Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society will be sponsoring a canned food drive during the week of November 16-20.  The winning class will receive an Ice Cream Sundae party sponsored in part by GWB Foods and WCCC NTHS Chapter.  All non-perishable cans, boxed and bottled food items can be submitted.  For more information please contact any NTHS member or Lisa Wagner at 373-2766 ext. 322 or by email at lwagner@thecareercenter.net.

H1N1 Vaccine Consent Forms due Friday, Nov. 6th

The H1N1 vaccine consent forms are due by Friday, Nov. 6th.  There is a drop-box in the front office.  Do not return consent forms to your home school, as the vaccine will be administered at WCCC.

WSCC Fall 2009 Open House

Washington State Community College will hold it’s Fall 2009 Open House on Sunday, November 8th from 1:00-4:00 P.M.  All students that attend the Open House will also be eligible for WSCC’s new “Priority Enrollment Process” which enables students to gain priority status in all aspects of the enrollment process, including financial aid, advising, and registration.

Halloween costume contest winners announced

On Friday, October 30th the Washington County Career Center held a Halloween Costume Contest.  The winners were:  Prettiest - Megan Stalford, Funniest - Sean Holiday, Scariest - Kyle Boron, Most Creative (tie) - Heather Warner and Misty Felter, and Staff - Mrs. Otstot.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  Great costumes!!

Pay It Forward!

This is just a reminder for students, please continue to pay ahead for your lunches.   This makes the entire process easier and more efficient in the lunch line.

OGT Test Dates

October 7th, 2009 | College & Careers

Any Career Center student who hasn’t passed a portion of the OGT will be testing during the week of Oct. 26-30. The schedule is as follows:

Mon. – Reading

  • Tues. – Math
  • Wed. – Writing
  • Thurs. – Science
  • Fri. – Social Studies

Tests will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 11:11 a.m.

General Test Taking Tips:

  • Encourage your student to get plenty of rest the week of OGT testing
  • Ensure that your student eats a healthy breakfast on the morning of testing
  • Encourage your student to be confident in their ability and to give their best effort

OSHA Safety Day

Our Annual OSHA Safety Day will be Wednesday, September 23rd.  This all day even will demonstrate the importance of safety in the workplace.

WCCC General & House Auctions

The Washington County Career Center will have a general auction and a house auction on Tuesday, June 9. The general auction will start at 5:00 PM. The house auction will start at 6:00 PM.

We have a newly constructed modular home ready to be placed on your lot! The home features 1508 Sq. Ft. End of the Year Fees & Books

Students, please be sure to return all books (including library books) and settle any unpaid fees with the school. Having outstanding books and fees will result in the school withholding your report card or diploma.
