WSCC Fall 2009 Open House

Washington State Community College will hold it’s Fall 2009 Open House on Sunday, November 8th from 1:00-4:00 P.M.  All students that attend the Open House will also be eligible for WSCC’s new “Priority Enrollment Process” which enables students to gain priority status in all aspects of the enrollment process, including financial aid, advising, and registration.

OGT Test Dates

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Any Career Center student who hasn’t passed a portion of the OGT will be testing during the week of Oct. 26-30. The schedule is as follows:

Mon. – Reading

  • Tues. – Math
  • Wed. – Writing
  • Thurs. – Science
  • Fri. – Social Studies

Tests will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 11:11 a.m.

General Test Taking Tips:

  • Encourage your student to get plenty of rest the week of OGT testing
  • Ensure that your student eats a healthy breakfast on the morning of testing
  • Encourage your student to be confident in their ability and to give their best effort

UNOH College of Technologies Open House

University of Northwestern Ohio, College of Technologies, is having an Open House and Race Night April 24 – 25, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Race night is Friday night. If you go to the open house you will get in to race night free.

Summer Employment

Students, if you are interested in working a full time summer job, please contact Mr. Porter as soon as possible. He has 2 to 3 immediate openings at Greenleaf Landscaping, 2 to 3 with Job and Family First doing document imaging, and another in a local professional office. As a student, you may select your worksite and your employer will be compensated for your wages for at least 60 days. Mr. Porter will be visiting classrooms this week to further explore these opportunities.

WCCC Summer Employment

Mr. Porter and Mr. Blatt will be visiting classrooms in the next week. Students who are PRC qualified will be eligible for full time summer employment beginning June 8th. Students will be given the opportunity to apply for these jobs when they visit the classrooms.
